The branch has been very active in raising money for the Wings Appeal.
Each year between 2001 and 2007 we raised well over £10,000. The record was in 2006 with £14,000.
We have now contributed a cumulative total of £168,700 since Branch foundation in 1995.
A Dinner to celebrate the achievement of £100,000 was held on Friday 26 October 2007 and another to celebrate our £150,000 achievement was held on Friday 10 October 2014. See Wings Appeals Celebration Dinner
Sylvia Bonner’s extraordinary efforts in past years by placing boxes of aircraft pin badges in pubs, clubs and offices raised donations totalling £10,437.
Our flagship events have been our annual RAF Band concerts.
The first, in March 2003, was the RAF Squadronaires, with subsequent concerts by the Central Band of the RAF from 2004-2010. The cumulative total raised was £27,870.
The last concert was held on Wednesday 3rd March 2010.
The Branch was formed in October 1995 and the cumulative amount raised now totals £168,700 (as at Nov 2020)
